Bassinet or Pack n Play????

Hey ladies! FTM here needing some advice. I had originally planned on getting one of those pack n plays with the bassinet and changing table attachments to keep in our bedroom for our baby girl to sleep. My SO was so sweet and surprised me with a pack n play, but it was just the basic model. In your opinion, is that too soft of a surface for her to be sleeping on every night for the first few months or will it be okay? I was looking in to getting a bassinet, but the prices are crazy for something she probably won't be in for longer than a few months. I just worry about the pack n play not being firm and sturdy enough. I've looked for some used bassinets, but there aren't many for sale in my area.

We got the one with the bassinet and changing table and bouncer and the bassinet part is the same mat you use for the bottom it's just suspended from the top. So it's the same mattress and your little one should be just fine!

With our first we had the pack n play with the bassinet and changing table included and honestly, never used the bassinet unless we had her downstairs taking a short nap in it. The changing table came in handy, but wasn't necessary. We slept her in the top half of the pack n play to start, and then moved it down once she was able to sit. I think another bonus is, when you travel with your baby, they're already used to sleeping in it that you shouldn't have to deal with restless nights in a bed they aren't familiar with.

We have the pack n play for when we're hanging out downstairs but have a rock n play or whatever they are called for sleep and much cheaper than a bassinet

Pack n plays are an acceptable place for baby to sleep. You might look into getting some sheets that are sized specifically for it.

Pack n play ! I thought the bassinet was a waste of money . You can get the pack n plays that have them attached. And you will use the pack n play a lot longer than the bassinet.

I always prefer the pack n play mainly because they can actually be in that up until about 2 years old. Especially if you're on a budget. Plus when they start meeting milestones like standing on their own, they can stand in their pack n play without the parents fearing them falling out/over the edge. If anything, they'd climb out and by then it's time for a toddler bed (in my opinion).

That's what I did for my first two kids. Pack n play until about 2 years, switched to a toddler bed once they could climb out. Affordable, space saving, mobile and safe.

Pack n play is the way to go. I'm going through my 2nd rodeo here and no more cribs for me. 
The surface is fine for a baby to sleep on and you don't have to worry about it. 
You do have to worry about how long baby uses that infant insert: it's only until about month 3. In month 3, the baby is able to hold the head and the next step is rolling over and getting up: infant insert thus becomes unsafe as baby can go over the edge. 
Same as with the crib: month 3 is the time when crib's mattress is dropped to the lowest level.

Why don't you exchange the pack n play you have for the one with the bassinet and changer?

Pack n play you get way more or of it for way longer, please they are normally the same price so why not get more bang for your buck

Stick with the pack n play. The purpose of a bassinet is the same and to just take up as little space as possible.
