I don't know if he loves me

Instead of saying, "it's over" he gave me three options.

1. Stay together 

2. Be friends 

3. We never existed 

I picked option 1 & he said okay. 

I asked him tonight if he loves me and he told me that he cares about me. I told him if he doesn't love me after being together for almost a year what's the point of us dating? I asked him if he pity's me, he says no, so I finally said, "You're hiding your feelings from me." 

He says, "No, let me tell you something.  People fall in love in 21st century because of their personal gains.  You scratch my back and I scratch yours. Personally you are pain in the butt to fall in love with. I realize this more and more as time goes by.  You have personal issues.  I can't see your ass whenever I want, ur family dispises me, I also could choose better, ideal woman for me. What else do you want me to say?  I am not gonna say things u wanna hear.  I am telling you reality.  You said you don't wanna break up with me so I am giving you a chance."

I DON'T GET HIM. 

I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY SOMEONE WHO COULD HAVE BROKEN IT OFF AND STARTED DATING SOMEONE ELSE GIVE ME CHOICES AND ACCEPT MY DECISION. 

I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW SOMEONE COULD THINK OF LOVE THAT WAY

HOW SOMEONE SEES ME AS A PERSONAL GAIN

I DO NOT UNDERSTAND HOW HE CAN SAY ALL THESE NEGATIVE THINGS ABOUT ME AND STILL WISH ME A GOOD NIGHT AND CALL ME BABY. 

Someone please explain, in fact, I need at least half this planet to explain.
