Bleeding

I'm 6 weeks and 3 days and I haven't had any bleeding or any cramps until today... I was washing clothes and felt a bad cramp I have moved and am unpacking and started cramping again I though I had to poop but when I went I wiped and there was some bright red blood went back a couple minutes later and it was very light brown. Is this normal? I'm calling my ob in the morning, but I want to know experiences with it.
