mirena iud experiences?

Can anyone share their experiences with the mirena IUD please? I just got it and I don't know if I'm going crazy or not!

I had it for about 6 months after my son was born. I just never felt right after I had it placed. I won't get it again after I deliver this time.

Had mine in after having our daughter...liked it at first....but then everything went to hell...hormones were off like I would hit psycho really easy, I wouldn't want to do anything all day, no sex drive (I would still have sex with my hubby but could feel the iud & so could hubby...sometimes it felt like a knife when he hit it), when I started working out and healthy eating (did this for 6 months) I struggled to loose weight (lost total of 10 lbs) & I truly was careful of what I ate.. in this time of having it in I had gained 55lbs & they were easy on & no budging to come off...I had it in for 2.5 years & had it taken out to try again for a second child but that was put on hold bc somehow it had caused my body to not ovulate...she we tried to get everything regulated and that was a bigger hell than having the iud in...I would have extreme heavy bleeding for a month or two & not have a period for a few months & then bleed heavy for a few months until getting medicine to help stop it...after 2 years of gynecologist not being able to figure out what happened to my body I found an ob/gyn that finally helped figure out that the iud cause the onset of pcos...& after a few months of meds for that we were able to get pregnant & expecting our little boy in less than two months...although I'm very grateful to be able to be pregnant again(bc gynecologist kept telling me I probably wouldn't get pregnant again bc of issues I had after iud) I would have never used the iud in the first place had I known I'd go through all that! I will probably be on medication to keep the pcos in line for a long time(hoping my body is able to go back to a more normal state than what it was before issues happened)

I got my after my first was born. Didn't have the greatest experiences. Couldn't lose weight on it, but could easily gain it. Made me pretty moody too. Nothing like the pill or something with stronger hormones, but wasn't pleasant either. Overall I've decided my body is just simply not cut out for birth control really. I tried the paraguard and it was roughly the same deal, minus the moodiness of the hormones.

I had great experience with it. Got it after my first son was born. I was able to breastfeed with it for two years. Kept it in for five years and only had very light and infrequent periods. After I took it out, my husband and I tried for another and got pregnant within three months of removal.

I had mirena after I had my first son, it made my cramps horrible and it ended up expelling in like 6 months.....apparently my uterus is not a fan of iuds

I hated it. During sex I could feel it.... It didnt feel good. My husband could also feel the string thing. They couldn't shorten the string any more so i had it removed.

When I had first got mine placed, I bled for 3 months straight! Some days were lighter than others, but it was a full 90 days of bleeding. After I got past that, I had it in for about 2 1/2 years and had to have it removed because it caused me a lot of pain and started to grow into my uterine wall. I've had friends who have had no problems with theirs and they loved it ! It didn't really work out for me, but hopefully it works great for you !

I didn't like it at first bc I bled for like a month, but then I had it for about two years and I loved it.

I loved it and am getting it again after the birth. It got rid of my heavy periods and roller coaster of hormones
