Am I the only person 'waiting' for non-religious/relationship reasons?

Not judging, I just feel alone in this. I decided at a young age that I would dedicate my early years to education, career, and helping others, and would only engage in relationships once I was financially stable and independent. Haven't regretted it yet.

I did this until I was 24 and fell in love accidentally lol. I almost resisted it because I felt the same as you, but I didn't and found that I've still been able to do the things I've wanted to do. I'm 26 now and still waiting to get married and have kids (well, not sure I want either of those things...I have complicated views on marriage/kids and am also in a relationship with a woman lol), but I'm glad I didn't pass up on the love I have. So my advice to you is to keep doing you, but if love happens when you least expect it, I would embrace it 😊

Why would you put limits on when and how love can enter your life?  It's great to have goals.  But, love and goals should not be two divergent events.

I think that's awesome although for me my now husband and I began dating when I was only 15 & now 15 yrs later though I wish I had finished my psych degree & worked longer in the field I loved before becoming a stay at home mom & wife I am beyond happy with my life and wouldn't change a thing
