Alright y'all I am annoyed as all get out. My Ob scheduled me for an appointment 2/8 then just called to say I would need to move it back to 3/2 so that I am nine weeks. Why is the wait so dang long now? All I want is a blood test to tell me how freaking far along I am. I think the hormones might be kicking in a little bit.

I called my doctor yesterday to get in for a blood test and she just scheduled me in for an ultrasound on 2/20 (8 weeks). I was a bit surprised! Shouldn't I be seen earlier than that? I mean I "know" the do's and don'ts of pregnancy but I just keep thinking "what if I were less diligent in my own research"?? So much damage could be done in the first 8 weeks!!

Thank god for this thread I thought I was the only crazy one thinking I'd get in right away even if just to take another solid test, and my first apt is at 6 weeks(not even with the dr), than ultra sound later THAN mother apt for Theo midwife THAN FINALLY MARCH 2 I get to see the dr for the first time. I even made another apt at another office as backup and they wouldn't even see me till 7-8 weeks 🙄 thank god ive done my research but what about those people who don't now what's going on and dos and donts

As an NP, there is a reason the wait is later. If you're having an early miscarriage, there is nothing that your doc can do- getting numbers doesn't change anything. So it really doesn't make a difference if you go in early, accept for peace of mind. Of course we all want that- at almost 5 weeks I would love to see that all is well, but if I'm going to miscary, it will happen whether I had my numbers checked or had an ultrasound or not. So as hard as it is, try to be calm and wait it out. Have faith and enjoy your pregnancy!

I had my first appointment on 01/27 but it was because I already had 4 miscarriage .. I only had 4 weeks and 4 days and nothing was seen on the ultrasound so I am checking my hormones tomorrow I have a appointment again I hope to hear good news

I called to make an appointment on Monday after a positive test on Saturday and they had a time slot available every day for the rest of the week. Obviously I think the only reason I got in so early is because I was bleeding a bit on Sunday so they want to do an ultrasound. Hopefully they'll be accurate in telling me how far along I am. I'm super anxious because I used protection both times but I'm not sure who the father is. I googled it and found out that 18 out of 100 women get pregnant every year when they use condoms as the only form of birth control. Never expected this to happen. Kinda freaking out a bit. 😱 Appointment is this Thursday morning. Fingers crossed that it's good news and the baby is fine. Still shocked 😱

My midwife doesn't see patients until they are at least 10 weeks. It drives me absolutely crazy, but I understand. At 10 weeks there have a better chance to hear the heartbeat via Doppler. I've been working myself up in a panic, but I keep reminding myself that even if there is something wrong with my baby there is nothing that they can do. 😕 
My first appt. isn't until 3/10. I'm trying to be patient - some days are easier than others.
