Clit difficulties

Has anyone experienced this before? Sex with clit stimulus with bfs fingers and being on edge feeling like your about to have the big O but never able to reach it. It doesn't happen often but when it does it's very frustrating and can sometimes end up in an argument. Just wondering if anyone else has had this and if they have any tips or just willing to discuss. It can feel like something is wrong with myself and it ruins the mood 😕
