HELP ME DECIDE

this guy in class likes me and i like him and i think he knows I'm scared to ask him out bc he was singing the song "love me like you do!" and he kept staring at me really hard and was shouting a bit " WHAT ARE U WAITING FORRRR" I was a thinking like is he just singing cuz he's happy or is he tryna tell me something 😂 so I dm him asking about whether being vegan is better than vegetarian/ pescatarian (cuz he's vegan) and he didn't answer but I know he saw it. so I dunno if now he thinks I'm being a wimp so I wanna know before tmr when I see him again... should I ask him out? Or just ask him if he likes me and deal with the consequences. (I don't like texting a lot cuz I think real life communication is more appropriate for a human lol)
