Help guess how candy in this jar???

Question

Can anyone please try to guess as close as possible how many candies are in this jar? Or a good estimate? I'm trying to win a contest and the prize would REALLY help right now. When I was a kid I used to win little contests all the time and for a long time now I haven't won anything and I've been depressed :/ I just want to win this contest and I know there's like equations and such that help you figure out how many candies are in a jar!

So the idea is (and it's great that you have a picture) find out about how many candies you see in 1 square inch (it is also great that they are all the same candy). Then figure out how many square inches are on the size of the jar and how many are on the top of the jar. You should use the idea of volume = Length times width times height 
When you have figured out how many are in a square inch and how many square inches there are multiply these two numbers together and there is your answer. This will not get you the exact but it will get you pretty darn close. Good Luck!!!!!

I say 244 we had this game at my baby shower and I guessed the exact number of jellybeans that had originally been in the jar before my bosses husband ate 11 of them lol I don't use any equations or anything to do with math though so you might not want to listen to me lol
