Do you believe in God

Question

Lately my life has been awful. Nothing but tears and sadness. I pray and pray nothing Changes. I'm a college student and I work my ass off but yet I still fail. I'm so angry because no matter what I do nothing is ever right. I'm alone with no one to talk. I'm really starting to hate my life. It's seems like asking a "person" in the sky for better days isn't working. I'm slowly becoming a disbeliever.

I do believe in God. But I don't personally believe in the sort of God who gives you whatever you want and makes your life perfect. I think it is more complex than that, and no one is immune to hard times. To me, our life on this earth is just one small sliver of our overall story, and it is impossible to know why everything happens the way it does. 
I remember when I was going to a certain church and dealing with chronic health issues, the people there made it out like if I just prayed hard enough and believed enough, God would heal me. But I think that's BS. I don't think real faith is contingent on what God can do for you, or that if someone goes through difficult things, it is their own fault for not "believing enough." That doesn't make sense to me. What does make sense to me is that the universe is so vast and complex, and there is no way we can comprehend the hows and whys of it all, nor can we assume we know what God is thinking. 
But that is just what makes sense to me. I know that for other people, it is different. But faith is a personal thing, and your faith doesn't have to be identical to everyone else's. 
I am sorry you are going through rough times. 😔 I don't think it is bad that you are questioning, either. It is completely understandable. Just try to keep the faith that it will pass. I will also say, that although I have not found complete healing, I have also experienced amazing things that I could have never imagined, and I do not think could have been possible without God. Your life can change in amazing ways, and ways you least expect. Your future is full of so many possibilities, so don't give up. 💙

Know that when God is quiet, He is working. Praying isn't the only way to find a spiritual breakthrough. The enemy is working and he is touching parts of your life that you are the weakest.

At this moment in time is when you need to praise & worship him more. A prophet once told me "Worship confuses the enemy."  You need to get into prayer, read the Bible & even fast.

God will honor what you do for him. Trust & stay firm in Him & His promises.

I'm an atheist but it has nothing to do with how rough my life is, I simply don't believe there is a guy up there who's all knowing and all powerful ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ but you do you girl if religion makes you happy the continue to believe, and if not then don't feel like everything you've ever known is a lie I promise atheists aren't "unhappy" or "sad" or whatever 😂
