How long after baby was born did you have people come meet them?

At the hospital I mean.

We still have 8 weeks to go, but we aren't allowing anyone to visit us in the hospital. I would rather spend the day after delivery trying to figure everything out and bonding with baby/hubby than worrying about family. They can visit when we go home.

Baby is born yet but I want to wait several hours before allowing anyone. Then only immediate relatives. Depending on how long we are there, friends and other family could come up the next day or if we aren't at the hospital for long, they can visit once we get home.

Our families were there pretty much right away, that same day.

Only my mom and granny were there when we moved into our room but i didnt want people until that evening (had my son at 8am) or the next day.  I wanted us time as a family and rest from my csection

With my 1st grandparents & my sister were waiting so they came in as soon as I was cleaned up but didn't stay long since it was late. With my 2nd I went into labor late at night/early morning so nobody had time to get there but my sister & parents were the first ones maybe an hour or two after.

Before I went in for my c section my immediate family was in the waiting room (about 10 people). Then when I was wheeled to my recovery room with the baby, 20 more people came. I love my family and I was glad to be surrounded by all the love but it was very overwhelming. If there is a next time, I'd like to limit it to like 5 people.

My dad and bro came in about 2 hours after but only cos they picked hubby up (it was about 2am they took him home he didn't have a car then) then my mum picked us up at 2pm the next day to go home. Everyone else came after we got home.

My family and siblings and my SIL were in the waiting room.  I hadn't even made it to the post partum room before i saw them.  My husband took the baby to them in the waiting room while I got cleaned up.
