Getting Back On Birth Control To Get Pregnant???

My friend's doctor told them if it's been hard to get pregnant, to get back on birth control for a little bit, and then they would be able to get pregnant shortly after stopping. Is there any truth to this or have any of you had experiences like this? It kind of makes sense thinking of a few people I know who missed one or two pills and accidentally got pregnant. After trying to conceive for 4+ years, I'd be willing to try anything but don't want to risk screwing up my body. Help! 🤔
