Period Irregularity

So I'm super confused because a couple days ago I started my period heavily while having sex (slightly embarrassing lol), with distinct period blood and a clot and the works, but since then, my period has been very light, to the point where it seems like just spotting... usually my period is fairly heavy, so I don't really understand what is happening or if this is at all normal. Any knowledge or suggestions are appreciated. :)
