The "nudity is empowering for women" movement is alive and well as of late. Although, nudity is nothing to be ashamed of, the well thought after idea gives thousands of men and women, teens and even children the idea that sending "nudes" to anyone is acceptable. Many, of course, are shamed later when the photos are shared locally or via internet. After being shamed, many of these women turn to this idea as a means to "blow it off".
