Should I tell her mom?

I know this isn't one of the usual types of comments, but I do feel you all of wonderful opinions.  So I have a friend who I have known for a very long time and she has recently told me that she is bulimic. I haven't really talked much to her about it because I don't what to say or what to do to help and she also cuts and I'm just not sure what to do to help her. Should I go to her mom and let her know what is going on?

When you tell her mom, you can ask her mom to please not disclose to her daughter that you're the one who gave her a head's up.

speaking from experience, talk to your friend one on one and ask her what's going that causes her to feel that she has to cut. Be there for her, sometimes you don't even need to say anything, just being a shoulder to cry on and listening can be a HUGE help. If you notice her physical appearance changing (more cuts, body weight changes) or even just her behavior dramatically changing, you need to tell her guardian(s) and let things be resolved from there. Sometimes professional help is the only one to help them. Hope everything works out❤️

I would let her know your worried about her i know its hard as you dont want to betray your friend but at least if she gets help shell still be alive

Cutting and eating disorders can be very serious. I know I had an eating disorder which to this day haunts my health in very scary ways. I would at least clue her mom in or talk to your friend about it. Sometimes people do these things and tell people as a way of opening up a bridge of communication to something deeper going on. She probably has a hard of time talking to you about it just as you do talking to her about it. But please, if these are real problems she has, talk to her before it's too late❤

I would try talking to her before going to her mom. She might get really defensive and feel betrayed if you go to her mom before talking about it with her. I don't know her exact situation, but she's obviously in a bad place so take it slow and help her become more positive and love herself. Don't do anything that will feel like you're pushing anything on her. Just make her feel loved and supported and do some fun stuff with her. Maybe she'll open up to you then. I feel for you and her both. ❤
