testing AFTER 4 weeks

I've seen so many ladies on here who got their BFP before 4 weeks... did anyone have to wait until 4 weeks or they for sure missed their period?! Period is due between the 10-13 (it varies, not always the same each month). I've had a lot of pregnancy symptoms but I don't want it to be just me making things up in my head, ya know?! I've tested once and it was negative, so if I DONT get my period by Valentine's Day, I'll test then. My first pregnancy I didn't get a BFP until 5 days after my missed period, so I should be so eager to rush, especially since I don't truly know if I could even be pregnant.
