Cramps after ovulation! TTC

Today I am either 3 days pass ovulation or 2. And I have had some cramps that go from mild to severe. I've read that that could be the egg moving to where it needs to go to be fertilized and become pregnant. I've never experienced this pain after ovulation other than last month's cycle. Before then I would just get cramps a day or two become my period. Can someone explain this.
