How do babies get rsv?

I'm already a germ freak. But with three older kids in school I can't really avoid sickness too much. Just curious if it's from the common cold.

I make them wash their hands non stop and disinfectant spray everything. My step son is in kindergarten and seriously has had a cold since he started school I swear. I'm almost to the point of asking his mom to take him to the Dr.

I'm in the hospital now with my 4 week old. She was diagnosed at 3 1/2 weeks. it's awful. Literally anybody who even sniffles near the baby, get them out of there.

RSV is a beast of its own. My son got it from daycare from another kid with it when he was 6 months. Problem with RSV is it starts out looking like a cold then gets really bad after they have already been out and about.
