My baby boy has officially hit the fussy stage, he's so quiet and such a good sleeper. But the last few nights around 9 or 10 pm he wakes up and doesn't go back to sleep for a couple hours (tonight we're going on 3 hours.) and gets super fussy and I swear this is the only time he cries.. he keeps nursing but spitting up cause he's nursing too much! And gagging on the binky cause he doesn't want it... What do you mamas do to comfort your babes when they're having these moments ?

We have the same witching hours. Like others, we swaddle and give him his wubanub. I found a great app that has womb sounds which our little one loves and it helps calm him. I also have found if my husband holds him, he does better because he is not hoping to get fed/use me as a pacifier. When I am holding him during this time, he starts rooting and gets super upset if I don't start feeding him again.

My son gets fussy around 7pm.  We usually try to wind things down and decrease stimuli. Swaddle, walk around the house.  He loves to look around and out the front window.  Bouncing on exercise ball usually calms him down too.

I put him in the carrier and sang to him!!! He calm down and go right to sleep!

Mine gets extra gassy at night so he gets these fussy times too.  He likes to walk and look around our house.  If that's not working I found out last night he enjoys cool air.  I swaddled him and took him into the basement to watch his daddy and uncle play some ping pong and he passed out almost asap.  The binky rarely works for us.

We swaddle, gripe water, and just keep feeding if he's showing signs of hunger! Lots of rocking/swaying and shushing in our arms too!

Swaddle, walk around rocking him, try a baby swing, ours has a vibrating seat he likes. Low light, quiet tv if you have it on, low stimulation. Pat his butt!!

Holly does the same thing each night anywhere between 8pm and 1am for 2-3 hours. We let her eat as little/much as she wants, keep changing her as needed, burping her frequently, offering the binkie when she wants it, patting her butt, stroking her head and face, talking to her, rocking her, and walking her around the house upright against our shoulder where she can see different things. Eventually she quiets down and goes to sleep, she just needs help getting herself there. Newborns don't know how to self-soothe yet nor do they understand what feeling tired means, so they get insecure and need help feeling safe and calm and settling in enough to fall asleep.

My daughter was awake and fussing for 10...TEN hours yesterday! No advice but I'm right there with you.

My son does the same around 4am,  even after I feed, change and burp him. He only calms down once i hold him against my chest but I'm so terrified to fall asleep with him there!
