When they start asking questions. I may not go full blown into a sex talk with a 6 yr old but I will answer any questions truthfully

I don't believe in having "the talk" with them. It's something they should be appropriately exposed to their whole lives. And kids are curious little creatures. Whenever they ask questions it's important to answer them honestly without getting too bogged down in adult detail. 
I've never had a particular talk with my kids. But all four of them fully know where babies come from and how they are made. We homeschool though and my kids have access to all my old nursing/medicine/bio medicine text books from past Uni days 😉 So they have been exposed to a lot about the human body, not just reproduction.

I would say when they can comprehend. Children need to be educated about everything because if you don't someone else will. I talked to my son's about rape, sexual trafficking,drugs, std's, pregnancy, prison, gangs, perverts, homosexuality, lesbians and whatever else because I wanted them to be prepared. And they are very greatful to me. They were around 9 at the time but now 20 and 16 and they ain't ignorant about anything.

My daughter is 9 and the questions have started hardcore.  I try and answer honestly while also keeping in mind that she's still young.  My worst fear is her going to someone else , especislly another child to ask so I encourage her to have trust in me and ask me anything her little heart desires.

Whenever they seem curious or questioning anything. If my child never show that curiosity, I would probably talk to them about it when they hit puberty.
