So my mother has been cut out of my life due to her denying past abuse and making outrageous demands regarding my child.

She has not been invited to my baby shower but knows when and where it is.

We have already put down a $500 down payment so I am not willing to loose that.

I am concerned because it is a public area she will make an appearance and a scene and have my father with her who will be blindly aggressive to those who disagree with her.

If they show up and are asked to leave by the host, they will likely start a physical confrontation.

So, I am wondering if anyone has any advice. I don't want a restraining order because it would require me going in front of her and a judge and I am too anxious to do so during my pregnancy.

If I talked to the establishment do you think they would escort her out? Or could I ask the police to keep her away.... can they even do that in a public place? We are in iowa, if that helps?
