Is it normal to be sad about baby growing up?

My son is 20 weeks and I adore him to pieces. He's just changing so quickly and I can't believe how much love I can have for him.

Is it normal to feel sad when look at his newborn pictures and how much he's changing already? I love him at this stage too but miss him as a brand newborn.

I find it sad clearing out his wardrobe for his smaller sizes.

People told me over and over to enjoy the newborn stage and going through ppd and recovering from c-section and being alone I just would get so annoyed hearing it. I really didn't enjoy it. I hated the fact that I felt like a food source with no love or appreciation shown, I felt like my child didn't even know who I was and that everyone could handle him better than I could. And for all these reasons and more I would just constantly look forward to him growing up. 
He's now 5 months and he's the most energetic crazy baby ever, I love it, he's affectionate and so smiley and he's my world.  Every single day he surprises me with some new hair brained stunt and I'm exhausted constantly but always smiling. 
And it's now I look back and think, why was I so caught up on him growing up, children will do that regardless of you wanting it to happen, but time will never turn back no matter how much you want it to happen. I really regret not enjoying  it more but part of me knows that hormones were a huge factor and hopefully I've learnt for number 2.

I feel the same way! Mine is 22 weeks. He's an amazing little boy with such a fun personality! He's just a joy! When he was born, around 3 weeks he was colicky and cried so much! So I feel
Like I didn't really get to enjoy him. So when I look back at pictures I feel sad! It went by so fast! But trying to enjoy all the moments now.

Yup, i did the same and I was so emotional, got teary.
But like you said, I love my little girl where she is now. I embrace every moment spent with her as much as I can because it's not long that she will be running around.. get as much cuddles and kisses as you can. ☺️❤️❤️

Right. The first 8-10 weeks PP was hell. But after we found out that baby was not getting enough food from EBF and we started supplementing she has turned into one of the happiest baby's ever. I just think of how what I learned and what I would do different if I did have another. Stop looking so much crap up. Actually sleep when baby sleeps without being paranoid that she will suffocate when I take every precaution to make sure shes fine. Lol. Give her a bottle if she's hungry, and try not to feel guilty about not EBF.

I love them as babies but toddlers prior to the tantrums or after are the best. Their personality comes out and mummy and daddy are just really the best thing in the world. Sadly when teenage years come this all changes again

Every time she goes up a size as I am putting the small clothing in bags I'm in tears. Then when I give them away I'm in tears again. I'm sure she is my last baby my other is almost 19 years old. I cry when I look at my 19 year olds pictures. I keep telling my husband I want our baby to stay this size. She loves to cuddle my oldest doesn't even like hugs.
