Birth Control Suggestions?

So I've always been interested in getting an IUD as a form of birth control and I was specifically looking at Paraguard. I'd like to stray away from hormonal birth control but I've always had severe cramps and heavy periods so I'm worried this would make those worse. Any advice from girls out there who use this option??

I have a Skyla IUD, and although it's hormonal it's very low dosage. Hormonal IUDs also shouldn't effect things like mood and what not because the hormones mostly remain the uterine region! If you have heavy periods with cramping, Paragard might not be the right option for you. But also there are so so so many birth control pill options out there that may work for your body!

I had the copper IUD, it's a give and take thing. I never had cramps or heavy flow until I got it and the pain would bring me to my knees. I would say it gets better with time, or you just get used to the pain. But the pill made me an absolute monster (tried three different doses) and come to find out by taking them I ran a higher risk of aneurysm because I have aura migraines. I accidently pulled the IUD out and I swapped to the new universal Caya diaphragm which is alot better IMO.
