Lightening crotch?

Can Lightening crotch be a sign of labor? I know it's normal in pregnancy but did anyone have it a lot before labor and extra painful? Also, can I dull the pain somehow or do I just have to tough it out?

Answer

In some cases lightening crotch can mean labor, but labor could still be weeks away. Usually if you're feeling that quick sharp zing in your vagina(Lightening) is because the baby is dropping lower into your pelvis to prepare for birth. There is really nothing that can be done to numb the pain or make it go away. It's normal. Maybe you can try getting on all fours to take some of the pressure off.

It's not really a sign of labor it's normal my doctor says it sucks but it's normal! You could try Tylenol or soaking in a bath but that's about it. Also sometimes belly belts help to lift your uterus us and take some pressure off.
