In grown toe nail😥

I had an in grown toe nail surgery 3 days ago.. it's very painful recovering ugh.. my question has anyone had this before.. and is it OK to leave it uncovered ? Or should I cover it better right now I have guaze just lightly wrapped around it.. any suggestions??
