Doppler readings accurate?

I have the sonoline b Doppler I use on occasion and it almost seems as if it picks up my heart rate and combines it with the baby's. It's very hard for me to get a heart rate of 140+ which is what the baby's always is. It'll be smack on hers, but read as 97 and I know damn well that heart rate isn't 97 lol anyone else have this issue?

Home dopplers aren't recommended because the user (you) hasn't been trained to recognized the difference between mommy, baby, and placenta. It's a common mistake

If it's 120 or UNDER it's most likely one of your arteries and not the babies heartbeat. For the baby the doppler should pick up at least 130+.  My babies heartbeat is normally about 165 at the doctors and normally I find her at about 152-167 on the doppler at home, and it's also the Sonoline B.

Yeah I never believe what the screen says. I just count myself for 15 seconds, then times by 4.

Yes, I'm almost 16 weeks and it isn't accurate. I can tell by watching the heart symbol in the corner that it's not picking up on every heartbeat. So I just take the heart rate myself & don't pay attention to what the screen says. :)
