Bad odor down there

Okay so it's a problem I've been having since I was around 10. Usually a bit after I get aroused and wet, I start to smell really bad down there and it's really bothering me. I think I sometimes get a bad smell too even if I don't get aroused. A couple of years ago, I had unprotected sex with a guy who is now my ex but I don't really think it's an STI because I've been having this problem before I had sex. What do you guys think? I think it may be BV. I am really thinking about going to the doctor to get checked out.
