Flu shot! Safe or not?

M in my third trimester and my doc just said i need to get a flu shot so that me and my baby are safe from any illness in future till delivery. Just wanted to know is it safe to go for it or not??

I got it in my 2nd trimester and I'm still alive. I just got the pertussis shot 2 weeks ago at 28 weeks... Still alive.

Make sure you request the preservative free flu shot if it isn't offered.

Flu season is coming to an end. Yes it is safe to get. If you are around people a lot I would definitely get it. You still have a chance of catching it though due to their being different strands of flu out there. It could still help prevent you from getting other strands of flu virus too. It doesn't hurt so get it while you still can. I know of
2 people who have the flu currently so it IS still around.

Get it! It's perfectly safe, and even though it isn't a perfect match for weekdays going around, it still helps it not be as bad or last as long. Definatily worth it!

You do NOT need to get the flu shot it's an option if you want it, I'm almost 37 weeks pregnant and I was asked right away at 11 weeks and I said no but one of my midwives just didn't understand no so at every appointment when I see her she asks me if and why I don't want it.

I received the flu shot in my 2nd trimester. However, it was reported that the flu shot this year is not effective against the major strain going around. Just something to keep in mind if you are on the fence. I was pressured into getting it and regret receiving it but I also haven't been sick once this winter (although I think that has more to do with constant hand washing, taking vitamins and keeping my distance from those who are ill).
