So far away......

My boyfriend and I have been together for 2 years. We met on a game through some mutual friends. Before we knew we had fallen for each other and didn't mean to. Neither of us wanted a relationship like this, but it happened. The catch is he lives in Finland and I live in Idaho, USA. I've been planning a time to go see him for a while. He is scared to fly, which I totally understand and I have no problem going there. Money is the key. I almost get enough saved them something comes up. I feel stuck. Am I just fooling myself into thinking this might work? I have a few friends that have gone through something similar, but I'd like to hear from this community. How did you meet your SO and how far apart were you? Did it work out?
