fetal doppler

i am 9 weeks and 2 days and i used my fetal doppler today, and the heartbeat sounded really slow. like 80 bpm the screen said. it's freaking me out... but i don't know if i maybe picked up my own heartbeat? or maybe i'm just too early for it to pick up the full heartbeat? what are your guys opinions? when i went to the doctor the baby's was 154 at 8 weeks, so i'm confused
