Doppler at home, too soon?

Question

I got the bjingles Doppler for at home. I'm about 9.5 weeks and my husband and I couldn't find the heartbeat. We looked and looked. The packaging says 10 weeks and up is best to find the heartbeat.

Definetly makes me nervous though after my last misscarriage.

Did anyone else have this issue?

A lot of providers won't even try until 11 weeks.

If the packaging says 10 weeks + just wait it out. I know it's easier said than done but just relax. God makes no mistakes💕

You'll have better luck with a Doppler 15 weeks up. Even most drs won't use them before then because they can cause unnecessary stress and worry.

I found my fourth at 9 weeks but I don't think I would've been able to without practice. I used it from 13 weeks on during a previous pregnancy so I knew where to look and what I was listening to. 9.5 weeks is still early for the doppler. Give it a week and try again. Baby is very small and very low still. I wouldn't worry that you haven't found it yet.

Very true. My midwife said her Doppler won't catch a heartbeat until 10-11 weeks. Plus I wouldn't use it all the time. It shoots waves into your baby. There are controversial beliefs about excessive use of a Doppler at home. But I'm sure it's just too early. Try to wait until you're at least 10 weeks, knowing that dopplers won't always catch the heartbeat until a bit later. Bless you guys and I'm sure baby is fine!! 🙏

I found mine at 9 weeks 5 days and heard it every day since. I'm 21 weeks now.
However, if you have an anterior placenta or if baby is in a weird spot, you might not hear it. A lot of people don't hear it until 13-14 weeks on a Doppler. My Doppler says to not use it until 16 weeks

I wasn't able to find he HB at home until about 12-13 weeks and even then it was so low in my pelvis, it was hard to find him.
I found him more reliably around 16w, but still with some looking cause he's got so much room.
Don't stress mama!! 9-10 weeks is almost impossible to find with a home Doppler. If you try again, take your time and go slow, look closer to your pubic bone- lower than you think you need to be and point the wand inward toward the middle of your hips (if that makes sense.)

It also takes a lot of patience. Initially I would get too frantic and could never find the heartbeat. My husband was much better at it. Start just above your hair line in the center. Then rotate the wand slowly. Then slowly move over just a tad and rotate the wand again.  Watch some YouTube videos on finding the heartbeat. That helped me too. I also found that early on (9-12 weeks) it helped if I put a pillow under my pelvis.
