How soon to travel?

Hi Ladies

Sadly my bfs grandma passed away this week and the funeral is 8 days after my induction and about 3 hours away from home.

Do you think it would be reasonable to travel so soon after the birth as i want to be there to support my bf and for the baby to meet his grandad as he is in his 90s and quite frail.

Are there any tips you would share?  Also how much can i expect to be bleeding a week after the birth?

I am very sorry for your loss. As the other poster mentioned, typically babies shouldn't be going around a large group of people for at least the first month, especially if any are sick.  Just talk to your doctor though. Perhaps if you don't let people pass your little one around or get too touchy you may be okay.  Sending prayers to your family.

Usually it is best to consult with your doctor/midwife. Normally, they don't want the baby to be exposed to a lot of people for the first month. However, they may have some suggestions given the special circumstances. Sorry for your loss.
