Nexplanon? Your experience?

Question

So I'm pregnant now but plan on taking bc after the birth of my son. I want to wait till my body heals completely as per my Dr's recommendations (at least 2 years). I was thinking about getting the little implant. I had a friend who had the iud... I'm NOT doing that! She got it removed and had a miscarry. And her husband said he could feel it (omg) I have taken the pill in the past I don't do well with low hormone types.

Is the arm implant good? What's your experience?  Please be detailed about bleeding in between cycles,  heavy flow, cramping, other symptoms.  Was it far from your normal? Did it effect your ability to breastfeed?  Hormones in milk? Did it leave a nasty scar when it was removed?  Do you have another suggestion/recommendation?

I had a period for around 2 weeks and then nothing for 18 months. When I came off it after 18 months my periods were so painful.

I didn't have any other issues with it, was the easiest BC  I've ever used cus once it's in you don't have to worry!  :)

I had it and stuck it out for two and a half years. I bled almost nonstop the first year, gained 75 pounds, and by the end would cry because of a picture. I was depressed and starving and miserable. I will never recommend it!

I've had three rounds of it (so 9 years now). I loved the first round when it was just 'implanon' but then they changed it and renamed it 'nexplanon' and it just wasn't the same! No bleeding at all first round but the other 2 I had bleeding every 2 months or so and it would last for about 10-14 days. I don't have a scar at all and the only thing that hurt was the numbing needle before they insert/take out. If you press down on your arm you can feel it but otherwise you wouldn't know it's there!

I have Nexplanon currently. It works well for me but my doctor had to prescribe me the pill also because the nexplanon caused breakthrough bleeding (which means I was on my period for two months)
But because I have both I don't have to take the pill at the same time everyday just have to take it everyday

Gained a stone in weight and bled for 18 months straight, literally it didn't stop. Some days were lighter than others, I was on iron tablets, put on the pill as well as implant to stop the bleeding. I was admitted to hospital by my doctor and it was removed 5 days later.
My mum has had it for the last 12 years apparently, and she loves it, no issues. So everyone is different ☺️

I got it two months pp in November. I've only had one light period since then (end of Nov) My only other symptom was that it itched for a couple of weeks but that's it. I love it :)

I hated Nexplanon. It messed up my hormones and the bleeding 😩 I had it for almost 2 years. And I bleed/spotted brown/pink the WHOLE TIME except 2-3 months last year. Like I would get period flows every once in awhile, then the rest of the time I would spot pink or brown and I always had to wear a panty liner because it was unpredictable with how much the spotting would be. I was scared to be with my previous boyfriends because I would try and hide that there was always a little bit of blood and it made me feel bad about myself. And when you come off of it and you want a baby, it took me almost a year to conceive. And my period was horrendous during that year. I heard such great things about it but my 3 sisters and I all have/had it at the same time and it's fucked us all up.

For me it took my body about a year to get used to it. The first year my periods were so unpredictable and sometimes they lasted 2months and it was super annoying. After the first year my periods went back to a 28 day cycle. It worked for me and I liked that I did not have to worry about taking a pill or anything. I took it out at 3 years and did not get a new one because we were wanting to try for another baby. I got it out in June and got pregnant in August, so it did not take long at all. But after it getting it out I realized just how much it was affecting my energy, sex drive, and mood. So even though when I was taking it I felt fine, I feel so much better now that it is out. I told my husband even though it worked for me I don't really think I should take it again once this baby is out. Im not really sure what we will do, my family has a history of blood clots when taking birth control and that was kind of my only option. I just don't know if it is worth it for me. Every woman is different though
