waiting longer than 12 weeks to tell?

I keep seeing so many posts on here about women miscarrying at 12 weeks or later what gives??? It makes me want to wait until 14 weeks or more.

Do what feels right. Statistically, you can feel safe at 12 w, assuming you've heard the heartbeat. But it's totally all about what makes you feel comfortable

Different sources will say the first trimester ends between 12-14 weeks so some people use the latest time (14 weeks) to make sure their bases are covered. I told at 12 weeks so it's completely up to you!

Our first pregnancy we told early and lost that baby. I was 10 weeks but we found out the baby had stopped growing at 8. (Missed miscarriage). This time we didn't announce until around 18 weeks. We told everyone right before we had our anatomy scan so we got to reveal we were having a girl shortly after.

Do what makes you feel comfortable.
Telling or not telling will not really change the outcome one way or another but the chance of miscarriage is reduced after the first trimester. 
Not to be negative but in reality, there's always a chance of something going wrong at any point but those are the minority of cases and there is no point sitting around and worrying about them.

This was my first so I announced at 6 weeks to my family in laws and my family I told within the next 2 weeks. I should of waiting til I reached 2nd trimester because now Im almost 15 weeks and have to get a d&c done this Tuesday  because my baby is severely sick....

I announced at 13 weeks. I saw my baby girl at 13.3 weeks and I'm now 14.3 weeks and I will hear hear heartbeat next week at 15 weeks.

I'm feeling the same way. I'm currently 10w 2d, just saw my little kumquat 2 days ago and all is well. But MAN all these depressing posts about miscarriages (missed miscarriages in particular) have me terrified of telling people! I feel like I'll probably wait till 14w just to be safe 😕

I told people before I was even 5 weeks. I think it's up to you and whenever you feel most comfortable telling people.

Do whatever you're comfortable with. A lot of people do at 12 weeks because the chance of a miscarriage get so much slimmer. Sometimes it's hard being on this app because a lot of people who have struggled post about it because they need someone to talk to and it can scare you. If you would feel more comfortable waiting a few more weeks that's totally okay.

Every pregnancy is different just like every woman is different. Do what is comfortable for you. If you want to tell people early, tell them. If you want to wait longer, then wait. Its truly up to you.
