My husband wants to name our child's middle name, his name!?

We both liked Christian, and now we're having trouble choosing the middle name. He said he wanted something that was in his name, so I thought he'd put his middle name but now he wants to put his first name.

I hate his first name. What the hell do i do? He won't budge, and also he is not even supporting me or anything because he doesn't have a job so a part of me feels like he is not entitled to it.

What do I do?

I want to put the child his middle name but he doesn't want. I just don't like his first name!

What the heck does his current employment situation have to do with his rights to his own child? This man is ur husband? Really? I have no opinion on the name thing but the way u talk about him sounds like u don't have any respect for him.

Wow girl that's super low. Because he's currently unemployed, he doesn't get a say in his child's name? That is bananas.

In my house we decided that the baby name needed to be unanimously chosen. If either of us didn't like the name, we threw it off the table. You two need to be a team. If your this stubborn over somthing simple like a name your in for a really rough road ahead after the baby is born.

He's your husband... not some random fling that resulted in a pregnancy. If my husband lost his job somehow, I sure as hell wouldn't be disrespectful enough to hold it against him, not to the point I'd refuse to let him be involved in his son's name. Plus, it's a middle name. How many people's middle names do you actually know? You need to learn compromise.

Okay well I can relate where you're coming from I hate my SO first name and if it was a boy he wanted it to be a jr and I get all that but it's just not my thing so I had to do a little reverse psychology and let him know I wanted to experience the same feeling his mom got to feel when she was naming him, the baby also should have its own identity and his first name could be the baby's middle name I mean you could probably budge with just a middle name like I am but if you really don't want to you could always use my approach good luck

Youee both equally parents to the child regardless of wether he has a job or not so it's still something you need to decide together. My first son has his dad's name as a middle name. I don't like the name but it's a middle name so it doesn't really matter. My son loves it. Plus I gave each of my kids 2 middle names so we could each pick one
