Prednisone and breastfeeding..?

I'm at a loss.. I desperately need something for this rash I've been bitching about for the last week but breastfeeding is not recommended on prednisone. I don't have enough of a stash built up to be able to pump and dump for a week while I'm taking it.. some sources say is okay to nurse 4 hours after a dose. My dr has me on a tapering schedule so 10mg 4x/day for the first 2 days, then 3x for 2 days and so on..

Maybe I could use some freezer stash for the first few days when the overall dose is highest..? I have enough for 2 days I think.. math is not my strong suit 😏

Idk I need some input, waiting for the pediatrician to call back but tbh she seems inexperienced and I've been considering finding a new one 😕 so I'm not sure her opinion will have much sway anyway.

The thought of switching to formula made me cry when I got to my car. I have a great milk supply but my daughter can't handle my flow so I've already had to come to terms with the "guilt" of bottle feeding. It's not really guilt, I guess disappointment is a better word for it. Either way, I don't feel like I can handle switching to formula right now. If it were for HER health, fine. But just for me to get rid of a rash? Nope, can't do it.

EDIT: for anyone who may search with the same question, my pediatrician called back and said it was okay to take and bf. What she suggested was to pump as much as possible, take the med, and then pump and dump 4 hours later but the rest of the day I could continue to pump or feed as usual. And this is only until the 20mg dose. What a relief! Now I just hope it clears up the rash!
