Is there a six month sleep regression?

Question

DD used to sleep through the night until 2 weeks ago. She was rocked till drowsy and laid down. She used to suck her thumb and soothe herself to sleep.
For the last two weeks, she has been waking up very often. The last couple of days, she's waking up every 45 mins. 
She cries with her eyes closed, goes right back to sleep if we rock her for 5 mins, only to wake up again in 45 mins. She escalates into full blown crying if we don't soothe her soon.

Why isn't she even attempting to find her thumb anymore? When will she go to sleep on her own again?
I don't see any teeth, the doctor couldn't see any either.

Oh my god!! This post has been me for the past month!! My daughter was doing great with getting herself back to sleep and would sleep for a full 6 hours at night and then feed and then another 4-5 and then she turned six months and it all stopped!! She got a terrible chest cold and was waking every 15 mins to 45 mins for two weeks then when that was over was waking every hour like clockwork for two more weeks!! She would eat every time! My husband and I were SO tired and SO grumpy and looking for answers everywhere. She's almost 7 months and the last 4 days she's been giving us some 3-4 hour stretches again but still a lot of 2. I've done so much research and it could be sleep regression, sleep associations, separation anxiety or teething. In the past 24 days she's popped two teeth and her crying when she wakes up has been pain crying. She has been teething since 3 months but it ramped up this month and I don't care what anyone says about babies not being bothered by teething "enough to disrupt sleep" because she screamed when she'd wake up and as soon as that second tooth popped she stopped. The only thing that helped was infant Advil and I had her in bed with me for three nights and she just would hold my hand. She slept better. I feel for you! I know what you're going through! Hang in there it will get better!

DD seemed to sleep better after we took off her sleep sack. I guess the sleep sack was getting in the way of all the rolling (the temperature in her room seemed okay and it was a cotton sleep sack).

Lol my son been doing that every so often but not consistency. He still asleep at 5 am through it. He take the pacifier since crying refusing to suck on it. I just try to feed him, I thinking he going through a grow spurt. That seems to help, it only 2oz or less, he back out. 
 Not sure if it help you but seem to help my so. He 6 months. I thought from teething too.  He take 6 oz before falling asleep for the night, I guess he having a hard time  stretching pass his 6 hr of being last feed since.

Thank you for your detailed response! My LO has been eating less than usual as well and her cheeks are a bit reddish. Did her gums look normal in the one month when she was waking up a lot?

Thanks girls this is my son at the moment at least I don't feel so alone now and know what's going on.
