I mentioned getting my tubes tied at my first ob visit next thing i know she's suggested a c section. I told them no unless medically needed but i think it makes it easier for them to do while you're already open.

Tubals for vag deliveries are usually done the next day laparoscopically, so much smaller incisions than a section would be. If you were having a section, they'd do it all at once but that's a more painful surgery. I'd personally opt for a vag delivery with a laparoscopic tubal the next day. Much easier to recover from.

My dr won't perform until 6-8 wks after delivery. She said it's more effective

They normally wait 24 hours after delivery, but it's been proven more effective to wait 6-8 weeks after delivery.

You're not going to want to go into surgery right after a labor and vaginal delivery, so I would imagine it would be a c section or wait until after the birth to get the procedure done. You may want to run it by your dr.

I have 3 beautiful babies ages 6-2 all natural vaginal births but I want my tubes tied after this baby and I'm just curious if they let you do a vaginal birth or have you do a C-Section since they have to cut you open to do the procedure.
