IUD- Skyla.. smell?

Hey everyone! I'm a 22 year old female, never been pregnant, have no stds I've been tested a couple times before I got the IUD, and right before it was inserted. I haven't switched partners. I haven't even had sex after the IUD was inserted. Anyway  that was some background here is my issue. I experienced some pain, mostly cramping the day it was inserted/two days after. A little while after I started to notice a bad smell coming from my vagina. It did not smell like an infection, did not have abnormal discharge, just spotting which I was told is normal. I've had the IUD almost in a month now, and the bleeding is still here.. which I know is normal. It takes months to regulate itself right? The smell smelled like.. well as if I hadn't washed myself in days. I wash showering well daily. It was pretty bad. But after about two weeks the smell went away. Still no abnormal discharge. No pain, no itchiness.. the only thing I feel is very mild cramps- but that is probably due to the fact that I am still bleeding. I've read online that smell almost always means infection, but for some reason I highly doubt it. Ive also read it's a symptom, our bodies are just trying to get accustomed to the IUD. I plan to visit my gyno soon, for a check up. Just curious if anyone experienced anything similar.
