I'm a first time mom and my baby girl is 1 week and 4 days old. I'm jealous of my mother in law ( her grandma) because my baby girl seems to be able to fall asleep so easily with her, stays knocked out with her and cuddles up with her a lot. While with me she stays up all night, and I don't get any sleep at all. I put her down to sleep, and she wakes up automatically after like 10 minutes. We do live with her and she helps me out with her especially since I had a c-section. Is it normal to be jealous of her or am I just being emotional and overreacting?

I would probably feel the same but you have to realize that she has a lot. Ore experience and is coming at it completely different. You're recovering and likely in a lot of pain, and exhausted on top of all that. Your babes gma has likely had a decent amount of sleep, and is not recovering from major surgery. You two are emitting two different energies. Give yourself a break and utilize gma as much as you can!💜 you'll get there

I think I would feel the same way; however I think this happens quite often.

If grandma is holding her while she sleeps and you are laying her in her bed to sleep (bassinet or whatever) then that's probably why she sleeps better for grandma. She feels the heartbeat, warmth and that snuggle feel of being held versus laying alone, no cuddles, no heartbeat and no snuggle hold. Also if you get anxious they sense that.
