When did/when will you start maternity leave?

Question

I am currently only 21 weeks, but starting to think about when I'll take maternity leave. I know a lot of women can and do work up to their due date- go mamas! I work as a nanny and finances aren't really an issue, but I would like to have a solid savings. I'll be a stay at home mom once baby is born.

I'm thinking of starting my leave at 30 weeks. Thinking that will give me enough time to prepare for baby and relax.

I'm interested to hear about when you took leave. If it was later, were you exhausted? If it was earlier, were you bored with too much time off?

I'm almost 38 weeks and still going strong working but sometimes I wish I was relaxing at home! I work at a school with special Ed and I just don't want to be gone too long away from these kids that really need my help, one of my main kids is a blind student and no one else knows how to teach him math and science since they're more of a visual subject so I'm trying to tough it out and stay until I have my baby and hoping I have her on the beginning of spring break so I take less time off also. 
I worked up until I had my first at 41 weeks also and came back 2 weeks later but just a couple hours a day. 😬

I worked full time until 37 weeks. I felt great! Having the last few weeks was nice so I could get organized and prepare for baby's arrival. My son didn't arrive until 41 + 2 so I had a full month before he arrived! I went back to work, only part time, 12 weeks postpartum which was nice as I was itching to get out of the house.

I'm 30 weeks, currently. I'm still working because being home drives me crazy. Sure, it's tiring. I clean for 3 hours a day when I'm not working the window, and I have a toddler to care for in the evening. But I want to make sure I have all the time I need with my new baby. I plan to work until I go into labor. I'm uncomfortable doing much lifting, but I'll deal.

I stopped working today.  35.4 weeks. This is my third and I'm not at risk for preterm labor. I was going to work until due date but hey, I ain't mad.. :)

I'm stopping next week at 37w. It feels like a good compromise between time to get ready without so much that I get bored. Fwiw, I've had a pretty easy pregnancy, I work in IT so it's not physically demanding, and am still working out regularly.

I stopped working at 34. I used my 2 weeks vacation for weeks 35 and 36 and then filed for maternity leave after that. I wasn't eligible for ML until a month before my due date which is march 17th. I still had her nursery to paint and get ready, last minute shopping, etc. I'm glad I left when I did because my energy was gone by week 36. I have been a little bored but work would be almost intolerable right not. Currently 37+3. And I'm enjoying the quiet time before our little one shows up!
