finally time to write my story
So I started having pre labour contractions on the 10th of Jan and the pain was mostly all in my back, this went on for four days, everyone in our house was running on zero sleep when I went to the bathroom at about 4am on Jan 14th, I thought my water had broke so after a call to birthing ward we headed to the hospital. We got in there and they tested to see if my water had actually broke. NOPE it hadn't. The midwife decided to check my anyways and looks at me and says hunny no way are you going home today, you are 3cms paper thin and your waters are bulging, let me call the dr and see if we can break your waters. So with that we waited for my student midwife to arrive and at about 8am she broke my waters, they offered me a epidural as the lady next door to me was in the process of getting one and to save waiting for the dr to come back and give me one. I said no thanks I'll wait it out, well about 30 minutes later I started on the gas, and oh my god didn't that just make the world seem like the best place ever!! Apparently I had "crazy eyes" I can't remember much once I started on the gas but I do remember asking for an epidural not long after that. And u was lucky enough to be given one as I was 6cm when I asked for it. Once I got the epidural all I could feel was pressure and telling my midwife I needed to push, her reaponse was just go with it. At 12pm on the 14th of January I started to push, and at 12.11pm my beautiful baby boy was born. Lincoln weighed 6pound10 (3kilograms exactly) 49cms long and a head circumference of 33.5cms. No tears a slight graze, and we were home at 9pm the same day I delievered him. W eryone keeps telling me it was amazing for my first child that it was all over in 4hrs and 11 minutes and home the same day! I now understand and believe it when people say your body will know what to do and you will be able to handle it all. My due date was the 28th of Jan.
