Buying a house question

Need any advice possible. I'm in the Air Force and plan to move to Florida in two years once I'm out. I have never bought a house before and am wondering if it would be better/cheaper to buy a condo or buy a house. I was going with condo this entire time until I read up on HOA fees. Any insight would be great as I am clueless to all of this. You would think they'd teach important things like this in school😔
