serious question-why do some Christians say that Atheists "hate" God?

It makes no sense. The definition of Atheism is not believing in any type of God. You can't hate something that doesn't exist.

This would be an excellent question to ask an atheist (why the anger?). I'm not trying to cause a conflict, but most of the atheists I've come into contact with are generally angry. I told folks I was atheist in HS (Bc I was hurt), and I got very angry when someone tried to talk to me about God/religion. I felt abandoned by God and alone. I have since been saved & baptized. Life is STILL very difficult at times, but I have hope in my eternity. God Bless ! 🕇

Like many others are saying...any time I've come in contact with an atheist, they have a lot of anger and debate about God a lot. My question is, if you don't believe in God as an atheist, then why are you so angry when I mention my beliefs or when you engage in a conversation about it? Why be so angry about something that supposedly doesn't exist to you?

Okay so it's a multi faceted kind of thing.

Atheists don't believe in a god to hate, yes, but if asked it is entirely possible for an atheist to create a hypothetical.

Example 1. "What if you die and meet god"
Atheist "I'd waltz my ass down to hell" or "I'd give him a piece of my fist because -insert something to do with the awful things happening across the world".

This atheist isn't now admitting there's a god, they're answering within the confines of the question which is stated in the hypothetical "god exists" realm.

It isn't necessarily a hate towards theism, or in the example GOD, it's a hatred towards the depictions and the actions of theists and their deities. So I don't hate Christianity, I hate that Christianity is so intertwined in the U.S. That it is used to oppress, but to a believer that may come off as a hatred towards their perspective religion (because it's all subjective to each person). 
I don't hate any gods necessarily, I hate using a god(S) to permits abhorrent actions and laws. That can easily translate to hate for someone's specific deity, when it's more accurately labeled as a hatred for their oppressive morals being disguised as religion. Not necessarily the religion itself.

I don't hate Islam, I hate extremists. I don't hate Christianity, I hate extremists. I don't hate other atheists, I hate extremists. This hatred only comes out when the belief is being used to remove or impede someone's rights and autonomy.

I truly enjoy discussing religion, but it is easy to get heated when religion, which is something personal and sometimes beautiful in the comfort it provides, is used to oppress because it is, again, PERSONAL and should only ever apply willingly to yourself.

For me I don't hate God as I don't believe in God but rather I hate what the religions do to people in the name of their God. I hate all the justifications and excuses for blind belief. I was told that I was possessed and needed deliverance. It made me worse. In actuality I needed medical help for seizures and since then I am much better. Religion does those kind of things to a lot of people, not just me. So it makes me angry that religion hurts so many with its superstitious and primitive beliefs. So no, I don't hate something I don't believe in. But I hate everything else surrounding it.

Atheism has its levels. Some atheists are open minded for a conversation, and some get extremely frustrated when God or any religion is mentioned. My mother is die hard atheistic, she cannot hear the Name of God without getting visibly irritated. And I know more people like that. I have the impression these people (the extreme atheists) all feel much anger towards religion, blaming religion for many bad occurences.
And I am convinced that die hard atheism is a religion just like Christianity and Islam. It has its creeds and dogmas like any religion. And of course you have to BELIEVE that there is no God (because a belief cannot be proven scientifically). Even more, sociologically speaking, it has more resemblences to a revolt: as a revolt is AGAINST something in the first place, and then it has to think of what it DOES stand for if it wants to stay alive, so here come the creeds and the dogmas. This doesn't change that originally they were against God and religion, so this is a very sensitive subject to them and they can get very angry and frustrated with religion.
As for the open minded atheists, they are the ones who do not believe because it was thaught to them like that. They do not mind hearing both sides. I was one like them until I found my way to God. And I know there are many others here in Europe.
Just for the information: my entire school carrier I never had a believing collegue in my class. Parts of Europe are VERY atheistic, you cannot compare it to America.

I believe the reason why some one is atheist is that they believe God made the heaven and the earth and us humans and want to say they don't believe because they can't prove it??? And to disprove what they can't understand Just a question am I wrong or right?
