what do yall think of my idea on getting married

Ive been planning my wedding but with me in school it seems like alot, i was thinking of eloping at a destination then once we returned having a celebratory party with appetizers, cake, drinks and music. Do yall think that seems to tacky?

To those who have got married this way did you still wear your wedding dress or makr it a less formal event

We knew someone who eloped, just the two of them, and live streamed the ceremony so close family/friends could watch. They honeymooned for the rest of the trip and then had a small party when they got home. I thought it was sweet. They already had kids, a house, etc - more important things to spend money on than a big wedding.
