Short cervix

We went to the high risk doctor yesterday to check the baby and to find out the gender (it's a boy!) The baby was doing great and even measuring 3 days ahead. But when they did the ultrasound on my cervix the doctor said was short which means it can push and make me go into preterm labor at any time. Which made us upset, I am 19 weeks and so they gave me progesterone pills to insert vaginally and antibiotics and I go back next week. They talked about a stitch as a last resource which scares me as its surgery. I am trying not to think about it and iam on pelvic rest again. Has anyone ever dealt with this?
