FTM induction worries

So I'm hoping to be induced at 39 weeks March 16th. I got checked yesterday and I wasn't dialated at all and so disappointed. He said they will schedule my induction once I start making progress with my dialation. This is my first baby and I have started getting really strong BH contractions. I'm just wondering if this is normal at almost 37 weeks? Just getting anxious. Mom is visiting out of state for only two weeks and I'd like her to spend as much time with me and her Granddaughter as possible and hoping to be ready to go by March 16th. Sorry it's so long
