do I have to stay in education?

I'm 17 and nearly 6 weeks pregnant, but I'm looking to move in with my boyfriend which means I'll be having to work to help pay rent and for the baby, but I'm currently in college - I'm in the uk - if I'm pregnant/have a baby and live with my boyfriend (baby's due 2 months before my 18th birthday) do I have to stay in full time education?

Do you have to? No. But it is the best choice for your child to stay in school and do whatever you can to get some type of deploma/degree/certification to provide for them.

Best thing is to stay in full time education and go apply for benefits for now, im in my last year of college and have had to apply for benefits to be able to afford anything, its what they are put in place for but i will be getting a job as soon as my baby is old enough to go to nursery. I want to stay in education because i want to get my a levels etc then go uni and work towards getting a decent job that can provide well for my little family. But for now i will have to cope with living on benefits, its not ideal but its all you can do really that secures your future aspirations anyway. Try and go to positive steps (searxh it online) ring up and ask for someone from early help to help you with all this and explain your situation. Good luck with it all.

You don't have to but it's better for your future if you do. You're nearly finished, a few months won't hurt. I'm in the UK, although older than you with a good whack of gcse and higher, years of work experience and further education and trust me employers attitudes really change when you're pregnant. Stay in school, it'll be worth it.
