Help my lo Always wants to be held

My son is almost 3 months n wants to be held constantly i can't get anything done he wasn't like this before im back to work now a few days a week n the sitter has a hard time also any suggestions on how to stop him from wanting to be held as soon as i put him down he screams until i pick him up i try to let him cry but he will cry so hard he starts gagging n choking help please tia
