Save the dates for baby shower?

My mom and family friend are throwing me a shower on the last Saturday in June (due August 4th). They're saying we should send invitations soon because summer is a difficult time for people to schedule events (around vacations, etc). I feel like it's too early for invitations though. Would it be weird to send a save the date for my baby shower??

Just send the invitations 6-8 weeks before the shower. Its definitely enough time.

Personally I think a save the date for a baby shower is kind of extra. Just send the invites out 6-8 weeks in advance, I'm sure it'll be fine.

6-8 weeks out is fine! The people who are on vacation and will miss your shower can send you a gift to your house if they choose. Personally, I would save the extra money spent on save the dates and just go with regular  invitations. Save the dates for a baby shower is kind of unconventional and I feel like people might be confused by it. Just my opinion, though!

My shower is June 17 and I'm also worried about people having plans that weekend. I'm hoping since school ends the next week not many people would be planning vacations. 😰 I would like to send save the dates but at the same time I don't think I will. Send the save the dates if you want!!

I'd say just send them out early. Mine is April 1 and I sent them out in Feb so people would have enough time to rsvp, request day off at work, etc.
